  • Who are the panelists for ClusterCon?
The guests for ClusterCon have been divided into three panels: Books - Jonathan Stroud Show Production - Rachael Prior (Executive Producer), Bradley Down (Script Editor) Show Crew - Oliver Curtis (Cinematographer) More guests will be announced closer to the event itself.
  • How long has this been in the works?
ClusterCon has been in the works since 4th July, 2023, a day after the National Film Awards. Some members of LockNation, including J who is one of our organizers and team admins, had the opportunity to meet the cast and crew of Lockwood & Co (2023) after the awards show. Wanting to share her wonderful experience with everyone and knowing LockNation is an international fandom, J reached out to the other team admins and proposed the idea of a virtual convention so everyone could share in the experience she did. After ironing out initial details, the admins asked for a team of awesome volunteers to help execute the idea. There are 20 people total in the Volunteer Team for ClusterCon. The team consists of editors, graphic designers, tech experts, writers, memographers and brainstormers. Every individual has been vital to the process and you can check out each person's individual contributions in the DEPRAC page!
  • What's the difference between the sign-up and the Q&A form?
If you would like to be selected to be a part of the Zoom Webinar you can use the Sign Up Form. If you have a question you would like to submit for ClusterCon you can use the Q&A Form. You may opt for interviewers to ask your question if you are unable to appear on camera or are shy. Interviewers will mention your name while asking your question. You may also opt to ask the question yourself if you and your question are selected for the panel. You can also opt to have your question asked anonymously. The Q&A form is optional for everyone. The Sign Up form is only for the Webinar. You can still watch the Youtube Livestream and ask a question even if you don't sign up for the Webinar. NOTE: Please only submit self-ask questions via the Q&A form AFTER you have submitted the sign up form.
  • How does it work?
ClusterCon will be held concurrently over Zoom Webinar and a YouTube Livestream. It will consist of three panels; for the crew, books, and production. The Webinar will consist of moderators, interviewers, panelists and audience members (that's you, LockNation!) Each panel will consist of two sections. Section One will be an interviewer moderated section where LockNation interviewers will ask the panelists pre-approved questions including some submitted by LockNation. Section Two will consist of audience questions, where LockNation members who would prefer to ask questions themselves will be given an opportunity to directly ask the panelists their pre-approved question. In order to ensure the quality of the Zoom Webinar, only a limited number of audience members will be able to join the Webinar itself. These will be randomly selected from the sign up forms and will receive an email invite to join the Webinar. Everyone else will be able to watch the panels live from the Youtube Livestream, and rewatch it later after the event has concluded.
  • Where can I follow you for updates on ClusterCon?
We have an official ClusterCon Twitter account which you can follow for updates. Our Youtube Channel which will livestream ClusterCon. We also have a Discord server for LockNation to hang out in and help plan different events pertaining LockNation!
  • I'm busy during ClusterCon. Will I be able to watch the interviews later?
Yes! The panels will be recorded and uploaded to the ClusterCon Youtube channel so LockNation may revisit and rewatch these interviews to their (our) heart's content.
  • What is ClusterCon?
ClusterCon is a Virtual Fan Convention planned by the LockNation Planning Committee. It is a FREE virtual fan event meant to provide a special opportunity for all members of LockNation in to interact with the creators of the series (books and show).
  • Can anyone join ClusterCon?
Everyone is welcome! LockNation especially (it's an event for us, after all!) but anyone in or out of the fanbase is welcome! However, in order to be a participant of the Webinar's Q&A portion (Section Two) you do need to confirm you're over the age of 18 or have parental permission to participate.
  • Do you know anything about Lockwood & Co S2?
No. We have no special knowledge of Season 2 renewal talks. ClusterCon is a celebration of the Lockwood & Co. materials that currently exist including the books by Jonathan Stroud and the 2023 show by Complete Fiction Pictures. Out of respect, we ask that audience members refrain from asking any questions relating to Season 2. However, Team ClusterCon is always enthusiastic about the possibility of future book or show media, so we encourage everyone in LockNation to keep campaigning (and clowning) too!
  • Will cameras and mics be allowed during the Webinar?
Cameras and Mics will be OFF for everyone except panelists and interviewers during the Webinar to ensure quality of the call. If you are selected to ask a question during Section Two of a panel your camera and mic access will be turned on by the moderator so you may ask your question. You may choose to have your camera on or off but your mic will need to be on in order to ask your question. PLEASE NOTE: The Zoom Webinar will be RECORDED and livestreamed to YouTube, and by asking your question yourself you will CONSENT to being a part of that recording that will later be re-uploaded to YouTube and contains risk of being manipulated for transformative works by fans. Team ClusterCon is not responsible for how that content will be used. If you are uncomfortable with your face and voice being part of that recording and would prefer to just submit a question that the interviewers may ask by citing your name instead, please select that option when submitting your question.
  • How do I sign up?
Sign Up forms for a Zoom Webinar link will become active on this website. You will need to sign up with an email associated with a FREE Zoom Account that should take little time to set up. If you want an opportunity to be part of the Webinar, signing up is mandatory. Sign Ups are not necessary if you only wish to watch the Youtube Livestream. Question & Answer forms are for anyone who has a question they would like to submit for any of our panelists. You may select if you'd like an interviewer to ask this question or prefer to ask this yourself. Please complete the sign up form prior to completing the Question & Answer form so you may receive an invite to the Webinar if you wish to ask your question yourself. PLEASE NOTE: Submitting questions does not guarantee selection to be part of the Webinar.
  • Will I be able to ask my own question at the webinar?
All audience-asked questions will be pre-approved on topics that are in accordance with guidelines that have been provided to Team ClusterCon by the panelists. Please understand that there will be a limited time frame for questions and not all questions will be used. Team ClusterCon will do our best to ensure everyone who has submitted a pre-approved question and wants to ask it gets a chance to ask their own; however we request your understanding regarding the logistics of the event and our panelists' time.
  • I have a question for one of the panelists but don't want to appear on screen/am busy during the day of the webinar.
If you have a question for one of the panelists but are unable to/do not want to ask it yourself for any reason, feel free to submit it in the Q&A form. You may select the option for interviewers to cite your name when asking the question OR remain anonymous. Please understand this is not a guarantee of your question being asked as due to the limited time frame, not all questions can be asked. Team ClusterCon will endeavor to ask as many LockNation submitted questions as possible.
  • What's the difference between the webinar and the livestream?
If you are part of the Zoom Webinar, you will be in the same call as our panelists. Your Mic and Camera will be OFF to preserve video and audio quality unless you are asking a question during the 30 minute audience interview portion. If you are not part of the Zoom Webinar, you can still participate live by watching the event on the event's YouTube channel. This will allow you to watch the event in real time and interact with other audience members via the chat function. The livestream will be posted as a video on the channel so it may be viewed again later.
  • I'm disappointed I didn't get an invite link to the ClusterCon webinar/my question wasn't asked/the setup didn't favor my time zone.
While we understand some people may feel this way, Team ClusterCon has volunteered hours of time, energy and brainpower into planning this event. We have had debates spanning days on how to ensure ClusterCon can be an inclusive experience for everyone from every corner of the world despite various limitations that we had to work with. From the timing, to the venue of the convention, to the system of sign ups and questions. Ultimately, this is an experience built by the fans and for the fans. Our panelists have graciously agreed to attend this event for free to ensure the event remains as inclusive as possible. Team ClusterCon is aware not everyone can afford attending offline or online conventions especially due to location differences or currency exchange rates. LockNation is an international fandom and thus everyone deserves equal opportunity to be represented in an event like this. This is the motto we have maintained while planning this event. We have attempted to set as many guidelines as possible that will ensure maximum participation whether that be in the Webinar, through the Q&A and even through the Livestream and Recording. We understand we cannot please everyone, and we ask that you think of every action we have taken in bringing ClusterCon to you as being one born of good faith without the intent of hurting or excluding anybody.
  • Concerning how Zoom Webinar uses personal info:
    https://blog.zoom.us/zooms-term-service-ai/
  • When is ClusterCon happening?
21st October 2023 More details to come!
  • How will webinar participants be selected?
Webinar participants will be chosen at random. We will do our best to accommodate all sign ups. However, to preserve the quality of the webinar, we may have to cap audience members after a certain limit. In the interest of fairness, a random number generator will select guests from the sign up sheet and those individuals will be sent the invite link. Please only submit your name via Sign Up form once. If Webinar sign ups exceed capacity we will attempt to randomize links to each panel so everyone in LockNation has the opportunity to attend at least one. When you sign up for the Webinar you are signing up for all three panels and, in case of audience limit reaching capacity, will be sent a link to any one of the three. REMINDER: A Youtube Livestream will be available for all three panels even if you are not able to receive an invite link to your preferred panel.
  • How do I participate in the Giveaway Raffle?
To partake in the raffle, Team ClusterCon have created a Raffle Sign Up form (found above). In the event you win, we will use the information you have provided to contact you. We will forward your details to Complete Fiction Pictures and Jonathan Stroud's team, who will then ship you the items.
  • I'm a minor. Can I also apply for the Giveaway Raffle?
Despite ClusterCon being an equal opportunity event, to participate in the raffle you must be 18 years or older. As much as we would like for younger members of LockNation to be able to participate, please understand Team ClusterCon, Complete Fiction, and Jonathan Stroud's team would prefer to avoid any legal issues that may arise from such a circumstance. Were personal safety not a concern, we would absolutely open the raffle to minors as well. Unfortunately that is not possible at this time.
  • How will you select Raffle winners?
Raffle winners will be decided using a random selection generator. All entries will be shuffled and put into said generator which will then draw the lucky winners. Team ClusterCon will have no involvement in selecting the winners as that part of the process will be automated.
  • How long will Raffle sign ups stay open?
The Raffle Sign Up form will remain open for one week, until 15th October, 2023.
  • How will you contact me if I win the Raffle?
Team ClusterCon will contact you using the provided email address on your sign up form. At that point we will ask for your address and shipping details which we will then forward to Complete Fiction Pictures and Jonathan Stroud's team. If you are uncomfortable with sharing shipping details with us, Complete Fiction, or Jonathan Stroud's team, we will be unable to deliver the package to you and will select someone else. NOTE: If you are a Raffle winner and do not respond to our email within three days of being announced, we will have no choice but to select someone else for the giveaway instead.
